Bus Evacuation!

We reviewed rules for how to travel safely on a bus and how to quickly evacuate in the event of an emergency.  The entire school then boarded buses and practiced a rear door exit!
Students from Grade 2/3 returned to class and did an amazing job of sharing this learning orally and in writing.  We used simple picture cards to promote discussion and guide our writing.  I was especially impressed with the number of students who explained WHY these rules are important.
See if your child can explain the safety rules to you at home!

After writing, we worked with a partner to read over our work and make simple corrections to sight word spelling, upper case letters, backward letters (b/d), periods and word choice.  We are trying to take more responsibility for making these improvements in our writing.

We are making gains in our writing AND we are ready for our first, safe bus trip together.
Keep up the great work everyone!
