It's been a busy week here at Little Falls. On Tuesday afternoon, we had a fabulous visit from Charmaine Reid - a motivational speaker who shared her story and encouraged all students to make physical activity an important part of their lives. She talked about her Olympic experiences and inspired the children to be active, set goals and aim high. We really enjoyed learning a bit more about the different badminton shots and some students and staff even got a chance to try their badminton skills. We learned to never give up - not just in sport, but in the classroom too.
On Wednesday, we celebrated peace and our whole school cooperated to create a large peace sign. Imagine getting 500+ bodies all working toward a common goal! It was an amazing accomplishment and proof that if people work together they can achieve some remarkable things.
In our class, we talked about the 'Golden Rule' and how we can demonstrate this every day. Treating others the way we would like to be treated is an idea that we learned is stressed in many different cultures and religions. We already do this and we celebrated the many examples we have shown by sharing them on paper.
Setting goals, staying positive, cooperating with others and treating everyone the way we would like to be treated are all important factors in our mental health. Something to think about!
